Italian legends Maldini + Totti to hold fan meeting in Korea this week
Superstars Paolo Maldini and Francesco Totti are among the legendary Brazilian and Italian players who have been visiting Seoul ahead of the Legends All-Star Game.
According to soccer insiders, Maldini and Totti will be in the country this week (Aug. 18-25) to promote the All-Star Game. The two players will meet with fans through press conferences, fan meetings, and other media activities.
Both have a special connection to South Korea. They met in Daejeon 21 years ago. Both started for Italy in the round of 16 at the 2022 World Cup Korea-Japan, one of the greatest matches in Korean soccer history. The Italians were the victims of an upset as South Korea won 2-1 with a golden goal in extra time. The two players, who were particularly talked about at the time, had the opportunity to connect with Korean fans 21 years later.
Maldini is considered one of the greatest defenders in the history of soccer beyond Italy. He scored seven goals in 126 games for the Italian national team and 33 goals in 902 games for AC Milan, the only club he played for his entire career.
