Kim Min-jae, AC Milan clash in the Champions League quarterfinals!… Real Madrid vs Chelsea, Man City vs Munich
UEFA held the Champions League quarterfinal draw at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland at 8:00 pm on the 17th (Korean time).
Until the round of 16, the top-ranked teams in each group were seeded and played against the second-place teams in the group, and there was no allocation between the same countries. However, starting from the quarterfinals, both teams from the same country and teams from the same group can meet. A random draw will be conducted after excluding all conditions.
In addition, this lottery will decide all of the semifinals and finals. The final will be held on June 11 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.
Chelsea, Manchester City (above England), Real Madrid (Spain), Benfica (Portugal), Bayern Munich (Germany), Napoli, AC Milan and Inter Milan (above Italy) participated in the draw for the quarterfinals.
From the first match, a big match was concluded. ‘Defending champions’ Real Madrid and Chelsea met. Chelsea beat each other two seasons ago and Real Madrid last season to advance to the final and win the title. The matchup that followed was between Inter Milan and Benfica. 안전놀이터
The next game is expected to be a bloody showdown. England and Germany’s strongman Manchester City meet Bayern Munich.
Kim Min-jae’s Napoli met AC Milan, the same Italian team as a result of the lottery. These two teams have met in the league as well as in the Champions League. Napoli will meet the winner of Inter Milan-Benfica in the semifinals. With AC Milan and Inter Milan using the same home ground, both teams became the home team for the first leg. Accordingly, AC Milan, the winner of last season’s Serie A, first selects the venue for the first leg (home/away), and then Inter Milan takes the remaining options.
The opposite side was a hellish draw with only one team out of Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City and Bayern Munich making it to the final. The team going to the finals in this bracket will qualify as the home team for the finals.
The first leg of the quarterfinals will be held on April 12-13, and the second leg will be held on April 19-20. As in the Round of 16, the away goals rule does not apply.
