“I really want to go to the playoffs. I don’t want to be called a weak team.”
Kwon Soon-woo (188cm, G), who was an ace during his days at Gunsan High School, continued to struggle in 2021 when he entered Sangmyung University. He averaged only 9.3 points in the college basketball league, and recovered his scoring ability to average 13.5 points in the MBC National College Basketball Championship.

Above all, his 3-point shooting success rate was at the bottom. It recorded 5.6% (1/18) and 16.7% (3/18), respectively, in the College Basketball League and MBC Cup.

Players who did well in their freshman year often go through a slump in their sophomore year. Soonwoo Kwon was the opposite. Rather, he played an average of 33 minutes and 52 seconds in 10 games in the college basketball league last year, recording 15.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals. His 3-point shooting percentage was 27.8% (10/36). It’s still low, but it’s positive that it’s getting better.

Kwon Soon-woo, who is recovering his skills while gaining experience on the college stage, is preparing for the 3rd college basketball league.

Kwon Soon-woo, whom I met during the field training in Yeosu, said, “My physical condition has improved a lot. (After ankle surgery ahead of the MBC Cup last year) I started training from winter training while rehabilitating,” he said. “This winter training was the hardest. It was the hardest because I did it while my body was in a state of disrepair after the surgery, but I have to overcome it.”

When Kwon Soon-woo was asked what he did well when looking back at the college basketball league last year, he replied, “I didn’t make any 3-point shots the year before last, but last year I made a few with confidence.”

Sangmyung University will prepare for the college basketball league centering on practice games from February after strengthening its stamina in Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do. 먹튀검증

Kwon Soon-woo said, “The sense of the game has not returned yet. He improved his stamina and body fighting. He watched a lot while playing basketball. I think I have an eye for basketball because I studied a lot of basketball,” he said. I do a lot more shooting training than last year.”

Instead of the graduates of Sangmyung University, Jung Ju-yeong and Kim Geun-hyeong, three freshmen joined: Song Jeong-woo (Anyang High School), Wi Jeong-woo (Bae Jae High School), and Choi Jun-hwan (Yeosu Hwayang High School).

Kwon Soon-woo expressed his anticipation, saying, “This year is the composition of players who can produce the best results,” and then said, “If Choi Jun-hwan boxed out, I jumped in the rebound or scored a certain amount, and I have to strengthen it and lead it well with Kim Tae-ho. I do,” he even explained his role.
