WBC Israel coach Kinsler joins MLB Texas front
Ian Kinsler (41), who coached the Israeli national team at the World Baseball Classic (WBC) to be held in March, joined the front desk of the American professional baseball Texas Rangers.
The Texas team announced on the 7th (Korean time) that it had hired Kinsler, a former franchise star, as a special assistant to general manager Chris Young.

Kinsler, who will be in charge of player development in the minor leagues, said, “I am very happy to be back on the team where I started in the major leagues.”
Kinsler, who competed as the US national team at the 4th WBC in 2017 and won the championship, competed as the Israeli national team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics held in 2021 and hit a two-run home run against Won Tae-yeon (23, Samsung Lions).
Ahead of this WBC, he was appointed as the head coach of the Israeli national team.
Israel will play in Group D with the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Nicaragua.
